Volunteers

Volunteer registration is open for the 2024 TCS New York City Marathon. If you want to be part of the race's 53nd running without running 26.2 miles, the best way is to volunteer. Volunteering gives you the opportunity to go behind the scenes on race day and motivate runners. Our volunteers support athletes before, during, and after their journey from Staten Island to Central Park.

There are multiple roles, locations, and shift times to choose from to be part of race day. Register early to secure a volunteer position that is convenient and works in your schedule.

Volunteer Opportunities

Take part in the TCS New York City Marathon and other races and events by volunteering in one of the many roles available. To volunteer with NYRR you must first create a profile at NYRR.org. Once you have activated your account, log in to your dashboard to register for the volunteer opportunity of your choice. Save your spot today.

Volunteer Leader Program

Volunteer leaders are individuals who are interested in greater responsibility at the TCS New York City Marathon and year-round engagement with New York Road Runners. Leaders help check in other volunteers, conduct orientations, and provide support in event operations by facilitating a positive volunteer experience.

Volunteer Groups

Volunteer groups earn guaranteed entries to the following year’s marathon and have prioritized access to volunteer opportunities in the TCS New York City Marathon and NYRR Five-Borough Series races. Groups include youth, schools, service clubs, athletic teams, church groups, alumni groups, companies, and more!
